Pastor Ron and his wife, Jody, were in their first year of marriage when they came to the brink of divorce. Desperately searching for help, the couple discovered a personal relationship with Jesus and, with the power of God, were able to save and strengthen their marriage.

Their experience was life-altering. They felt the call to help change the lives of others. After spending seven years in the business world, Ron quit his job, went to seminary, and in the year 2000, he and Jody stepped out in faith to plant Highpoint Church. 20 years later, what started as a handful of people praying in a basement has grown into eight locations around Chicagoland with church plants all around the country helping thousands of people believe in, belong to, and become like Jesus.

Ron and Jody currently live in Wheaton, IL, and have three grown daughters, Allie, Erin, and Emily.

Ron & Jody Zappia radically come in to a first-time relationship with Jesus while on the brink of divorce.

03/12/2000

Highpoint Church is launched, starting with 30 people praying in a basement, and holding its first worship service in a local High School with 300 people in attendance.

2003

A vision for church planting and multiplication is cast as several staff pastors are trained and sent to plant new churches around the country.

2008

Highpoint finds its first permanent church home in a 100,000 square-foot, foreclosed office building which underwent remodeling to utilize for ministry.

2013

Ron Zappia Ministries is launched, expanding its reach from one local radio station to a nationally syndicated radio program on 500 stations nationally along with conferences, podcasts, and books to help reach people with the gospel message.

2015-2019

Rapid growth and local church revitalization expand Highpoint from a single-site to a multi-site church with five physical campus locations, Highpoint @ Home online experiences, and Russian and Spanish speaking services.

2019

Highpoint Send Network for Church Planting is launched with a full-time pastoral residency program and church planting network with churches around North America and the world.

2020

Pastor Ron celebrates 20 years as Founding and Senior Pastor of Highpoint Church, Highpoint Cares, Highpoint Global, and Highpoint SEND while helping thousands of people believe in, belong to, and become like Jesus.
